Opening Event: Festa in the Plaza

The Adelaide Italian Festival kicks off with a spectacular two-day Opening Event in Festival Plaza, where the heart of the city transforms into a vibrant Italian piazza.

Wander through Via del Gusto (The Taste Lane) for laneway eats and relaxed bar vibes, gather at Piazza Centrale (The Heartbeat) for the main stage energy, or enjoy a spritz at Osteria Terrazza (Terrace Kitchen) while enjoying acoustic music.

From long communal tables under festoon lights to flowing wine and lively bars, it's a feast for all the senses.

The entertainment line-up brings something for everyone: from the powerful voice of Carmen Floccari & Band, performing direct from Italy on Saturday, to high-energy sets by DJ Louis across both nights. James Liotta will bring his trademark humour as Friday's MC, while the atmosphere is kept buzzing with roving performers, caricature artists, and plenty of family fun.

Days will feature acoustic music, workshops and kids' activities, before the evenings light up with live bands and DJs to keep the party going late.
